A favorite ritual for our Vagabond House family is to end a day on our patio with cheese, olives, bread and wine. Our design team created the first of our Olive Grove Collection pieces for these impromptu gatherings. We loved it so much that we decided to create a whole collection of Olive inspired pieces. Olive trees have been cultivated since ancient times. The olive tree is a source of abundance for humans; from it we produce oil, fruit, fine wood and medicinal. The trees are exceptionally long lived; a tree in Croatia is thought to be around 1600 years old and still produces a crop of fruit each year. The most written about tree in western literature, olives branches are symbols of peace, prosperity and triumph. In ancient Greece, Olympic champions were crowned with an olive wreath.Our Olive Grove Collection features fine serve ware embellished with exquisitely detailed, hand-finished Vagabond House pewter olives and branches. |
